Product FAQ

21700 Cylindrical Lithium Cell

When should an OEM project use 21700 cells?

21700 cells are often useful when the project needs higher cell capacity, fewer parallel cells, better energy density, or a larger current margin within the available pack space.

When should buyers choose 32700 LiFePO4 instead of 21700?

Choose 32700 LiFePO4 when safety, thermal stability, cycle life, and 12.8V / 25.6V module architecture matter more than maximum cylindrical Li-ion energy density.

Are datasheet high-rate currents always continuous ratings?

Not always. Many 21700 figures mix continuous discharge with an 80°C temperature cutoff or a short pulse. Typical high-rate shortlists stay around 35-50A; 45A-class and tabless 60A+ currents need cooling and pulse duration confirmed before sampling. 1 kHz ACIR is for matching; pack heating follows DCIR.
